Classica

Album

A Musical Meditation on Time Eternal, by Metasonica

Classica - a cinematic concept album on the theme of time - is in an eclectic fusion of live instrumentation, electronics, orchestration and spoken word.

After years of conceptualization, design, re-design, recording, re-recording, re-composition, re-production, remixing, and revelation, it is here at long last. We hope that you find beauty and inspiration in this music.

Released on the Vernal Equinox, the first day of Spring, the balance point between day and night, light and darkness.

Release Date: March 20, 2014

Cover Art by Rei Perović.

Soundtrack for an Imaginary Film

Album

Electronic Chamber Music

Here, I explore certain genre-specific instruments in ways not always traditionally intended. A tender glockenspiel can overpower the brute force of an over-amplified bass, and sentimental violins may collide with masculine brass staccatos while gritty urban grooves peek in and out like passers-by. Narrative subtext is revealed in the track titles.

Virtual instrument innovations of our digital age inspired and guided the creation process.

Infinity (Peter Monk Remix)

Metasonica

An imaginative ambient house remix of Metasonica’s Infinity by longtime collaborator Peter Monk.

Tis remix adds an anthemic synth melody, horns and a smooth, danceable downtempo groove to the sensual French spoken voice of Metasonica’s original. Hypnotic, entrancing, and highly addictive!

Café Mozart

Album, by Mozart Modern

The 17 pieces on this album serve as a comprehensive modernization of Mozart’s most popular oeuvre. Café Mozart brings a whole new take on those familiar favorites by merging various musical influences such as Tango, Latin, Middle Eastern, Klezmer and electronica without ever compromising the composer’s authenticity. It succeeds at liberating timeless music from the elitism associated with concert halls.

The project is a collaboration with producer/arranger Bob Parr and our Mozart Modern ensemble put together by Gilad Harel’s cast of amazing musicians adept at improvisation from extensive Klezmer and Jazz backgrounds, featuring Meg Okura (violin), Uri Sharlin (accordion), Dan Aran (percussion), Jennifer Vincent (Cello).

The project had to be produced in such a tour-de-force timeframe that it’s a true testament to the amazing musicianship of the ensemble that magic took place!

Romance

Single

by Metasonica

Romance, an adaptation of the Adagio in G minor by Tomaso Albinoni (1671-1751), is at once haunting and urgent. The violin melody, played by Gloria Justen, soars over a lively groove infused with Middle Eastern percussion, making for a scintillating modernization of the favorite Baroque classic.

Now available at all major digital music stores worldwide.

Between 2009 and 2011 this now discontinued string of singles appeared on compilations, videos and in TV shows and advertising. Hiding Places and Tag und Nacht (the German version of my song Day and Night) came from the discontinued album Zero Gravity. Berlin Ich Liebe Dich and Tag und Nacht were my first records on which I sang in German, with the former a world peace anthem and tribute to the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in 2009. The releases were withdrawn from single distribution in a bout of doubt while working on new ideas, but some are still available on Two Step compilations and at my store. A new version of Berlin Ich Liebe Dich is appearing in 2016 as theme of a video series.
